Avoid trivial couple quarrels — Mayor Francis

Balanga City Mayor Francis Garcia advised the 59 newly-wed couples in the Valentine’s Day Kasalang Bayan held at the Emiliana Hall to ignore petty quarrels among partners in life.

Said the mayor who was accompanied by wife Racquel: “Kung maliit na bagay lang wag niyo na palakihin para walang away.” He said small misunderstanding should be resolved at once to keep a harmonious relationship.

To give more meaning to the occasion, Mayor Garcia asked some couples to speak out and share “lovely” experiences and romantic encounters in meeting their lovers that inspired them to pursue a married life. The mayor was delighted to listen to the couples’ narratives.

The Kasalang Bayan is a traditional mass wedding ceremony held by local government units free of charge — from preparation of marriage contracts to wedding cakes to wedding portraits.
The ceremonies were graced by members of city council, barangay captains, and employees of DILG and civil registrar’s office. office.
